So it came to my attention recently that I’ve been called a fake artist by a few people and saying I plaster shitty filters on some shitty edits, and now I’m not gonna get angry and defensive. I didn’t know I should’ve said this before but I really have to admit that I DO trace some parts of my art in order for it to look as close as I want it to be to the ref, especially the line art, so I apologise for everyone who thought I 100% freehand some of my advanced art, I seriously didn’t know I should’ve mentioned this fact before because I thought this wasn’t a bad thing to do while drawing. In all sincerity, I hope you all accept my apology and I’m going to try and get better at drawing and stop using the tracing method less and less. In addition, I do use some filters ON TOP of my art to make it look “better” according to my taste and how I would’ve like it to look like, so if that’s also a bad thing I will try to use that less and less until I completely stop.

A point I forgot to add: I usually don’t keep my progress files but to prove to you guess I found a couple files I forgot to delete (thankfully) and I’m gonna give a brief idea of how I did my art

With very light grey I trace lineart and then I start making random smudges and lines to indicate where I need to put in specific colours. I don’t have a “real” art programme but the brush used looks what seems like a “marker” and I change opacity and size

I keep doing that until I build up some form then I start to get more detailed and try to not get out of the lineart I did

Then I fill in the shadings and colours, and darken by drawing over specific lines I did until I am pleased with the result, and I darken the original lineart I did with different colours that are suitable. I like using a layering effect!

I wasn’t really able to find anything else, I’ll roam the recycling bin further more later. Hope this was clear and enough??!??
